Aw crap! Your story's intense and heartwarming buildup was so perfectly positioned to create the ending heartwrench that I'm sure paralleled your actual experience. Dammit... and you did everything right, too!

*sigh* well, as the above poster noted, at the very least its a good learning experience. You proved to yourself that you could handle early morning sleep management and you now have a good example of that to follow in the future (I thought the breakfast and shoe preparation the day before was a very good touch). In addition, we've been over your cover letter style and you've seen that succeed as well (well, succeed as much as that aspect was possible at succeeding), in that it got you in the door instead of dismissed. So that's something else you can take away from this as a blueprint for future job hunts. Also, more specifically to the perennial if you go back again some time in the future, well you *already* have a reputation for persistence there. Assuming they have another vacancy to fill, and if you come back with more experience, and assuming the manager isnt a complete dick, they will probably hire you. Also assuming you go into your third interview not allowing any annoyed feelings from their past bullshit to show.

Granted an actual job would be a lot more useful than all of the above but at least its *something*. Keep up with the job search, this sort of crap unfortunately is the norm for everyone, you usually have to go through a couple of these before you find something that sticks. And I'm sure Dave and Busters will be doing their best to keep you searching for a new job anyway.

Good luck out there, sorry to hear the bad news
